The Broncos are nearing some important NFL deadlines when it comes to the amount of players allowed on a teams roster.
Currently the Broncos have over 80 players on the roster and on August 31 the team is required to have that number trimmed down to 75. Four days later the Broncos will make final cuts to reach the NFL maximum regular season roster size of 53 players.
So with those dates quickly approaching, I decided to go ahead and put myself in a position of power within the Broncos organization and make the roster cuts now. Below you will find my predictions for the final 53 man roster that the Broncos will have on Saturday, September 4.
I did a little research and found out that last season, McDaniels first as the Broncos head coach, he had the following amount of players at each positon:
QB - 3, RB - 4, TE - 3, WR - 6, OL - 9, SPT - 3, DE - 5, DT - 2, LB - 9, CB - 4, S - 5.
With that information, here are my predictions for the 2010 Denver Broncos 53-man roster:
QB (3) - Kyle Orton, Brady Quinn, Tim Tebow
RB (5) - Knowshon Moreno, Correll Buckhalter, Lance Ball, Justin Fargas, Spencer Larsen
TE (3) - Daniel Graham, Marquez Branson, Richard Quinn
WR (7) - Jabar Gaffney, Brandon Stokely, Eddie Royal, Brandon Lloyd, Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker, Matthew Willis
OL (9) - Tyler Polumbus, Ryan Harris, Chris Kuper, Russ Hochstein, J.D. Walton, Zane Beadles, Eric Olsen, Seth Olsen, D'Anthony Batiste
SPT (3) - Matt Prater, Britton Colquitt, Lonie Paxton
DT (2) - Ronald Fields, Jamal Williams
DE (4) - Le Kevin Smith, Ryan McBean, Jarvis Green, Marcus Thomas
LB (8) - Wesley Woodyard, Mario Haggan, Robert Ayers, D.J. Williams, Jarvis Moss, Joe Mays, Akin Ayodele, Jammie Kirlew
CB (5) - Champ Bailey, Andre Goodman, Alphonso Smith, Perrish Cox, Nate Jones
S (4) - Brian Dawkins, Renaldo Hill, David Bruton, Darcel McBath
Noteable Cuts - RB Lendale White, TE Riar Geer, DE Ben Garland, DE Justin Bannan
Other Notebales - Elvis Dumervil (IR), Ryan Clady (PUP), Darrell Reid (PUP).
So there you have it! The 2010 Denver Broncos!
