When Disaster Strikes

Its a terrible thing when disaster strikes, that's why its called a disaster. This weekend I covered the story of this apartment fire in Colorado Springs. And let me tell you, every time I work a story like this I'm so thankful to have insurance. 11 News did a story a few months ago when another complex caught fire. Did you know renters insurance can be as cheap as $20 a month. I know for some, an extra $20 a month can be hard to come by. But, I have to say its worth it.

The Red Cross told me some of the people at the Cobblestone Ridge Complex didn't need to get money from them because the families had insurance so they were placed in a hotel and given some money as part of their coverage. Just something to think about.

I wish nothing but the best for these families and other who have had to deal with fires.
