It’s that time of year… time to resolve to make 2012 even better than 2011. For many people, that means we strive for a healthier year – with what we eat and how often we move. But I think it’s important to remember that resolutions don’t HAVE to be about food and exercise. It’s really just about taking 2012 to the next level, however you want to do that. So, I polled a few folks in the newsroom and some of our Fit Club contributors to find out what they resolve as we get closer to 2012!
Mecca Rayne, KKTV Weekend Anchor - This year I really want to take more risks. I want to feel like I am reallllllly living and I feel like should start trying more things that make your heart beat! That’s my goal to do more things that make me nervous … almost like looking fear in the face and laughing!
Phil Tenser, KKTV New Media Director - 3 donuts a week, not just 2
Keely Gaston Nations, Bodybuilder & Fit Club Contributor - I strive for balance in 2012!!!! I have started working with a business/ life coach mentor because I know that balance does exist and I think it may have a little something to do with time management :) so I am committed to becoming a better manager of my time to achieve more of a balanced life!
John Harding, KKTV Morning Anchor – Drink less soda
Kelly Schuberth, KKTV Producer - My New Year’s resolution is to exercise 5 times a week…at least. But some fun exercises like Zumba or this upside down gravity yoga I keep hearing about. The treadmill and elliptical are so boring!
Jerod Langness, Personal Trainer & Fit Club Contributor – My resolution this year is for organization and follow through. I maintain good health, but I want to dive deeper. I want to track and assess better for myself and clients.
Jesse Kurtz, KKTV Sports Director – to train for and complete my first half marathon.
So there’s a little glimpse into the resolve of some other folks. Maybe you’ll find some inspiration! But that’s the best part about resolutions. They’re just for you. So you do what works for YOU!
For me, I plan to stick with my resolution from 2011 – to eat something green every day! That has worked for me as an attainable daily goal. But I’m also going to add to it. In 2012, I’m getting it done!! What is “it”? Whatever I need it to be in that moment. I know it’s not specific. But I like it as a mantra. I’m going to print it out and stick it up everywhere (as evidenced by the pic below of my desk). It will be my inspiration alllllll year long.
What about you? What’s YOUR resolution?
