In addition to feeling stronger, there's been another benefit to my new workouts. A whole new community!

Week 3 into my CrossFit workouts… and I’m stronger. I feel tougher. I’m getting more familiar with some of the moves and the terms. All awesome things! I really feel like I’m making progress.
But there’s been an unexpected bonus to my workouts as well. I have found a whole new community of people that has welcomed me with open arms! There really is a CrossFit community! And I kind of feel like I’m part of it!
It’s funny, because I’m definitely still learning! I am soooo obviously a beginner. The CrossFit SoCo coaches are always helping me find ways to adjust the more advanced moves to accommodate my newness.  (Arghhhh – STILL can’t do a pull up!)
You’d think it would be intimidating to try and hang with these tough folks in the group class. But you know what? It’s more inspiring than intimidating. And they take time to encourage me during our workouts. For example: my most recent workout… we were doing burpees (basically a pushup, then get to your feet and jump straight up in the air) and I was the last one trying to finish the 10 in the round. But everyone who was already done starting cheering me on to the end, yelling - “Go Stacia! You got this!” And they cheered me on until I was done.
Now – THAT is community.
We’re all in these workouts together – through the sweat, the challenge and the soreness when it’s all over. So if you’ve ever thought to yourself… “Nawwww, I can’t do CrossFit. I’ll feel silly cause I can’t do everything!” Or “People will think I’m weak if I can’t do as much”… I’m here to tell you that is NOT the case. Come join the CrossFit So Co community!
In fact, I better leave NOW before I miss my next workout!

And a big thanks to Eric Chin - one of my fellow crossfitters - for taking these pics! And encouraging me!
