If you’ve followed the KKTV Fit Club blog, you know I used a Bodybugg earlier this year. Well, after a summer of slacking off, I’m back on the bug! It’s the only thing that’s worked for me.
So what is the Bodybugg? As the official website explains, it’s a “revolutionary calorie management system that helps track calories so you can stay in control of your weight.” Basically, I wear it on a band on the back of my arm and it keeps track of my burned calories, while I log what I eat each day on-line. Then, the calories I burned and the calories I took in are compared and I see if I ended up with a deficit or surplus of calories for the day.
I got down to my lowest body-fat percentage EVER using the Bodybugg!!! And, honestly, I think I got cocky about being able to do it on my own. So when my Bodybugg subscription came to an end – I thought – I’m good to go. I don’t need any help. Boy, was I wrong!!! I spent the summer being lazy and eating what I wanted… and the results show it! I measured with my trainer, Jerod Langness at 24-Hour Fitness last week. Since May, I have lost muscle and gained fat. That’s the OPPOSITE of what I’m trying to do!!
As I’ve stated before on this blog, my fitness goal has never been to lose weight. My goal is to lose body fat. Right now, I’m in the “Fair” category again. But I’d like to rise above the “Good” category and get into the “Excellent” category for my age group.
For me, that means I have to get my eating right. The Bodybugg helps me do that.
I’m telling you – once I put that thing on my arm again, I was instantly aware of what I was eating… mostly because I knew I’d have to enter my food on-line later!! But it’s working already. I’ve been back on the program for 2 weeks and I know I’m already making healthier decisions. Apparently, I just needed the Bodybugg to sit on my arm like a little food conscience.
