My New Goal... Get Dirty - (Stacia Naquin)

I can't let my team down. So it's time to get down and get dirty... for the Dirty Dash.

I’ve been a little lost.
I’ve been eating well. I’ve been going to the gym. But I’ve been without a goal for awhile! Luckily, that’s all about to change. I’ve got some new inspiration, because I’m about to get dirty.
I’m running in The Dirty Dash. It’s a mud run obstacle course that’s less about the seriousness of competition and more about the fun. But I’m still going to do my best. And this isn’t an individual race. This is a team effort! I’ll be running with four of my co-workers in the newsroom.
That’s where I’m finding my new inspiration. I’m all for having fun. But I don’t want to be the weakest link!! And I’m running with some ATHLETES! Let me introduce you:
There’s pint-sized Lindsey Grewe: KKTV web-producer by day, marathoner by evening. This chick is so tough… she can run the incline in 27-minutes. What?! That’s amazing. She knows how to push herself and get the training done.
Producer extraordinaire Brandon Isle: He may sit at his desk, producing the news every day. But he’s fast on his feet. He blew by me in the Run To The Shrine, beating me up and down the hill by ten minutes. And on  top of that… he made it look easy.
Sports Anchor Sam Farnsworth: Whether its fishing, playing football, hiking – Sam can do it all. And sometimes, he does it with his two adorable little girls strapped to his back. You can’t do that unless you’re a coordinated dude!
Sports Director Jesse Kurtz: Sure you see him reporting on the sidelines. But this guy has shown his own athletic prowess: running the Bolder Boulder or biking in the Tour de Cure. He appreciates all sorts of sports. And he’s good at all of them too.
So these are my teammates!  And I am determined not to let them down. So I am now deep in the trenches of two-a-day workouts – cardio and weights – in an effort to be ready for team “Technical Difficulties.” I've got until Saturday, August 11th. There will be mud. There will be sweat. There will be fun. And I can’t wait to be part of a great team!!
