Proper attic ventilation is essential and the key to the life and longevity of your home. You could save the life of your home and many different problems that can occur due to Colorado’s ever changing weather patterns.

The heat in your attic could get to over 120 degrees, and that high temperature then begins to deteriorate the glue and bonding agents holding the plywood together. When this happens, it causes the plywood to warp making it dry and brittle. As the plywood dries, nail fasteners become loose and lose their bond in the plywood thus making it lose the structural integrity, making it susceptible to wind damage. The building department recognizes these issues and has also made adding the proper attic air ventilation part of the necessary building code.

To ensure that your attic is being properly ventilated, have a professional inspect your roof to guarantee to effectiveness.
