A GREAT DAY FOR SOME HOCKEY KIDS
I like Hockey. I remember reporting in Denver from the streets of Lower Downtown in 2001, the last time the Colorado Avalanche won the Stanley Cup. Things got wild when they won, but not too wild. Colorado hasn't won the cup since, but they sure won some lifelong fans this week.
My nephew Ryan loves hockey. Here he is in a break.
At 9 years old he knows more about the sport than I'll ever know. Here he is in action. He's on the left.
Tuesday in Denver, he had a once-in-a-lifetime experience because of the Avs...with some of the Avs! It turns out I'm not the only one in the family with a blog. Ryan tells his Dad what he wants to say and his Dad types it for him....in his own blog "Ryan's Neutral Zone" So I'll let Ryan tell his story. Click on the link below to check it out!
So congrats to Ryan for getting to do something really cool on ice. Thanks to the Avs for making such an amazing thing happen for young fans. It's something none of them will ever forget!
We'll talk again soon.
