THE NOT-SO-FAMOUS TOWER AT THE OTHER END OF THE BUILDING
We're all used to seeing this iconic view of London and the Palace of Westminster...the Houses of Parliament. On the right side is the Clock Tower, the one we commonly call Big Ben. Look on the far left. At the other end of this beautiful building is Ben's bigger sister.
The Victoria Tower was completed in 1860 as a Royal entrance and a storage place for the records of Parliament. The tower does house the Parliamentary archives. When you walk all the way to the south end the building the tourist crowds thin out and you get this view of the Victoria Tower.
A pretty spectacular structure, even it it's not nearly as famous as the one at the other end of the same building.
We'll talk again soon.
