What A Great Tribute To Great Britain
I was in London on September 10th when there was a huge parade to honor all of Great Britain's Olympic and Paralympic Medalists. Here's the crowd gathering at Trafalgar Square. That's where the parade ended. It's also where Brits were able to gather during the Olympics and Paralympics to watch together on that giant TV.
I moved up the route a little to find a less crowded spot. That's where I got this picture of 10,000 meter and 5.000 meter gold medalist Mo Farah. His win in the 10,000 meters was amazing!
The crowd was really into this. All those athletes on 21 floats, many of them a mix of Olympic and Paralympic heroes.
After the parade passed me by I moved away down by the banks of the Thames to beat the crowds. I was in a pub along the river when people started moving outside. I got out there just in time to catch the Red Arrows flying over the city in a tribute to the athletes. They were spectacular... here they are right over St. Paul's Cathedral.
A closer shot!
The whole thing was a wonderful tribute to the British athletes of 2012. Even as a visiting American I enjoyed it too!
We'll talk again soon.
