A new record at the Fine Arts Center

JOSEPH BREAKS A RECORD!

I heard today from Tim Muldrew, the interim Artistic Director at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center Theatre Company.  He confirmed what I'd already been told informally.

The Fine Arts Center Theatre Company's production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" closed Sunday.  It was a terrific production of a popular show and it is now the most successful in FACTC's history!

Over a 19 performance run, "Joseph" sold 6,900 tickets.  The best before that was "Beauty and the Beast" three years ago.  That wildly successful show sold 6,011 tickets over 18 performances.

What does this mean? It means word is spreading, as well it should, that this organization produces top quality entertainment...and it's right here in Southern Colorado!

Congratulations to the cast and crew and musicians from  "Joseph" and to the staff at the Fine Arts Center on a job well done.  Next up on the FAC stage is "The Producers"...it opens January 28th.   Here's a link for tickets. https://tickets.csfineartscenter.org/public/default.asp

One final note, of those 6,900 tickets sold to "Joseph"...6 or 7 of them were sold to me.  My nephews Evan and Ryan and my niece Kate were all in the 16-member kids chorus that played a pretty big part in the show.  I kept going back to watch them over the four weeks of the run.  I take my uncle duties very seriously!  Who knows when or if that many of my nieces and nephews will be involved in something of that high quality again. I hope they will - but you never know!

Word got out among the cast members that "the guy from TV" had been to several performances.  For that reason all the kids signed a "Joseph" shirt for me as a thanks for supporting the show. So thanks kids! All of the young cast members did a wonderful job...the older ones did too!

Here's my shirt...held up by my niece and nephews. That's Evan on the left, then Kate and Ryan.  I had lunch with them and their parents Jen and Greg today.

Thanks kids..and Congratulations again to everyone who was part of "Joseph!"

We'll talk again soon.
