WE'VE GOT SOMETHING FUN ON SUNDAY
The ad time during the Super Bowl is expensive and worth it. It's sold out again, so advertisers see the value. KKTV 11 News General Manager Tim Merritt said in one of our news stories today that several local businesses are launching new campaigns during the Super Bowl.
The game has produced many memorable commercial moments over the decades...CBS even aired a special looking back at some of them last night. There are on-line polls where any of us can rank our favorites.
We've got a few new spots about 11 News that are going to air on Sunday too. Our creative services department is using humor to get viewers' attention and then to reinforce an important message. Our mission at 11 News is to get it right..period.
With tongue in cheek we will make that point on Sunday...and have a little fun at the same time. I don't have permission to give away too much...I'll only say that at various points the spots include a dinosaur, an Elvis wig and a small airplane.
So on Sunday enjoy the game, and the commercials, and keep an eye out for our new 11 News spots! I like them. I hope you do too. Comment after the game and let us know if you saw them.
We'll talk again soon.
