Charity Coverage And A Charitable Photo Selection
A big thanks to Linda Navarro at the Gazette for her coverage of the Newborn Hope dinner. As she pointed out in the paper on Saturday, the 100 plus supporters at the August 22nd event raised about $24,000 to help families with premature babies. It's a wonderful organization. Shannon Brinias and I were proud to be emcees for the evening. We'll also serve in that capacity at the Newborn Hope Fashion Show in December.
I've known Linda for many years, since my days at a different TV station in Colorado Springs, when Linda wrote a column about TV related stuff. One time she wrote a piece about me and another reporter at that other station..someone wanted to know if he and I were the same person? We were not the same person, we still aren't! I'll blog about that another time. These days I run into Linda a lot at the charity events we both attend on a pretty regular basis.
In the web version of her non-profits report she included a picture of me falling off a mechanical bull. I've blogged about that flying experience before, here's a link.
I want to thank Linda for the coverage of the important part, the fund raising, and the not-so-important part about the mechanical mis-haps. Also thanks to Linda for using a picture that doesn't make me look too bad! Here's a link to her article.
We'll talk again soon.
