It's been a little more than a month since I started this blog, just to see how it would go. I'm enjoying it, so I'll keep doing it. It's a chance to write about anything at all, and there's a lot more room to breathe than I get on a quick facebook post. I tend to do everything fairly quickly - nature of the business- so it's never going to be very polished. Consider it a rough draft with spellcheck (when I remember)
Here's a funny side note. Spellcheck, which has a logo on my screen in which it's just one word, doesn't recognize "spellcheck " as a word. It says it must be "spell check" or "spell-check". hmm. It also doesn't recognize blog as a word.
Anyway, the title is new, as is the heading graphic so I think it's more visible now on the website, and it might generate some more comments. What has amazed me is that some comments have come in from faraway places such as Los Angeles, Wales and South Africa. Those were all on entries about famous people so the commenters no doubt found the blog on a very specific search. They may even have alerts set up to notify them any time a name appears in a blog.
I have lots of ideas for blog topics but I can always use more. If you have a question you'd like me to answer e-mail me at email@example.com. I'm treating the whole thing as a poor-man's newspaper column. I'll write about something (anything) two or three times a week. So if you like anything you've read, check back every once in a while for new stuff.
I'm not really an expert on much of anything (maybe TV news) but I am interested enough to be sort of informed on a lot of different subjects. In the weeks ahead I'll write more about my history in the TV business, some of the more memorable stories I've done, and places I've worked. (click on "more blogs" to read the somewhat strange story of how I got into TV in the first place). Once in a while I'll even talk to some of the people you know from KKTV and bring you some insight on what they're like. (look out for a piece on KKTV-ers favorite music soon.)
I'm not going to spout my opinions on controversial issues. Who cares what I think? There are plenty of other places you can go for that kind of thing. My mission here is for us to get to know each other, and to bring you insight on how TV News works - that's where your question come in!
So welcome again to "The Written Ward"
We'll talk again soon
