Lunges, squats, planks, etc... these are fairly typical elements to any tough workout. Now take all those things and throw them in the sand. That's what you get with Fitness Origin. It's a brand new gym that’s all about a workout in the sand. That's right - in the sand.

Take a look at the gym. It's literally a giant sandbox. Managers planned it that way, looking for something to work out on that was more natural than, say, concrete.

So that means no special shoes required. Actually it really means no shoes at all.
"The sand is there to get people out of restricting shoes and allow their feet, calves, glutes, and core to move on a more natural and forgiving surface," says Jake Noel, the General Manager of Fitness Origin.

I have to admit. It's an odd feeling at first. And newly-pedicured feet need not apply... unless you're ready to part ways with your pretty, new polish. The sand will destroy it. You can wear socks. But let's be honest. You're here for a workout in the sand. And that's what you're gonna get! Cause that's what we got.

I tried out this workout several times over the last week to really see what it's like. And let me tell ya - it's a doozy every time. But it's also efficient and specific to you.

Do you remember the last time you ran around at the beach? I remember. Not only was it a blast, but I also woke up the next morning sore in muscles I forgot I had. That's what this workout is like.

"We target every muscle group of the body, especially those muscles that haven't been used in a while or maybe ever for some folks," says Jake. "By 'waking up' those 'dormant' muscles, you're able to increase the metabolism, keep your joints stable and safe and also build more tone." That means you're burning more fat and building more muscle!

You perform moves at seven different stations. You spend a minute doing each one with twenty-seconds of rest in between. You'll complete that circuit three times and that's it. You're done! Here are some examples of us in action:

Don't get me wrong. It's not easy. It's actually the opposite of that. But, like I said earlier, it's efficient. The other thing that's different about this workout... there's no specific class time. You can show up ANY time of the day... 9:36am... 11:14am... 1:02pm... and you can start your workout with the trainers. So, there's LITERALLY no excuse not to spend some time improving your health. And this can be for every age.

"People of all ages and abilities can get plugged in, side by side, and get a great workout because our system is self paced," says Jake. "That means when you feel good and you're really getting the hang of the exercises you can turn up the intensity, and on the days when you're feeling low or you're learning the exercises you can scale it down a bit."

I’ve been several times over the last week… both in a group and individually. Either way, it’s good personal attention to my form with help to push me to push myself! And the workout is different every time I go… targeting different muscles with different moves. And I feel like I’m getting a really good workout! Another plus for me? It doesn’t hurt my knee! (which can act up sometimes, but not in the sand!) Here’s a group pic from the first day I went. See? We’re all smiles, even after our workout!

Do I recommend this workout? Absolutely! And the folks at Fitness Origin are making it really easy to try it out right now. You can try a FREE 14-day pass just like I did. Go see Jake, Jeremy and Chas:
