Forecast worked out pretty well for this storm.  It has been a pretty long duration event, and our original totals did well.  We put out 2 to 6" for Colorado Springs and Pueblo on Saturday night, for Sunday through Monday night.  And obviously we forecasted 10 to 20" amounts for the southern mountains. By no means was this an easy storm to forecast, but we didn't have the north wind to kill the snow between Colorado Springs and Pueblo.  Not having that to deal with, at least made the forecast a little easier.  Light upslope and very cold air, usually will produce good snow for some areas that usually get bypassed by other storms( Julio and Ed).  Snow totals will likely change a little bit tonight, but as of 10pm tonight, here is a preliminary look at totals from this latest snow:

19"  CUCHARA

12"  MOFFAT

9"    CRESTONE

6"    TRINIDAD

6"    SECURITY

6"    FOUNTAIN

5"    PUEBLO WEST

5"    BEULAH & RYE

2-3" Northeast CO Springs, 4"  CO Springs Airport, 7" Broadmoor Area

5"    FOWLER

4.5"    PUEBLO

4"    MONUMENT

3"    CANON CITY

3"    CALHAN

3"    FALCON

3"    ALAMOSA

Some of the southern areas will likely add a little more to those totals the rest of tonight, but the accumulating snow is pretty much done in El Paso County.  If anyone has new information, don't hesitate to post your total.  Thanks!

Jon, I plan on it.I have my organics in their bin just waiting..Got my garlic down this last fall, cannot wait to see that! We have had just enough moisture to help those! Hopefully, we can have some great moisture this summer!

ended up with 4.5 - 5 inch/ melted .25 water from it... Ann, therefore besure to really work up your soil, you know to besure to mix in a goog amount of organics, admendements, in order to get the most from any rain/ irrigation you get/ use.. you can begin on it as soon as the soil thaws out... deep spading is better than rototilling if you can start early & do a little at a time.. attending that symposium may be very informative for you , & good excuse to get out of house , cure for cabin fever... jon

So I look at the next week or two and again, nothing. Screw it, just bring on summer. I've given up on this worthless winter.

4 inches in Colorado Springs? I think we got less than two out here on the East side.

the weather is not too bad, but cold and icy and the commute is terrible. for some reason our administrators feel we should be in class until 11pm, and we sit here thinking about how bad it will be when they allow us to finally go home. its sad, we pay for an education at a college and they could care less if we are hospitalized as long as they get paid. gotta love the consideration.
