Mystery Shopper Scam Continues (Betty Sexton)

What could be better... going shopping and being paid for it! I thought the mystery shopper scam was long gone... but it is still alive and kicking!

Thanks to Maxine of Colorado Springs for telling me about her experience.  She says it sounded like a great deal to her and a way to make some extra money.

Maxine was asked to shop at Walmart and relay her shopping experience.  For her time and trouble she was given a check for $2,550 from Virginia Credit Union.

Her pay was $200, she was to buy $50 worth of Walmart merchandise, and then wire the rest to another mystery shopper via Western Union.

Before Maxine did anything, she called the Virginia Credit Union  and was told the check was a fake.  Thank goodness she looked into it first!

It always pays to ask questions and check out offers before you bite.  In this case, had Maxine deposited the check, made her purchases, and wired the money... she'd have later learned the check was no good and her bank would be asking her to cover those funds.

If you get a killer deal and are a little skeptical... send me an email and I'll check it out.  The last thing you want to do is lose money to a crook!
