Latest Paypal Scam (Betty Sexton)

Deck the halls and put on your caution cap. If you're like me, your online shopping triples this time of year. That's why it's important to have your guard up.

Thanks to Dr. Warren Layfield with the Colorado Springs Rocket Society. He warned me about the latest phishing scam which targets Paypal users.

In the past most cyber crooks would send out emails asking you to click on a link. This new one asks you to click on an attachment.

If you click on the attachment and enter any personal information, crooks can go to town.... transferring funds out of your Paypal account, making purchases with it, and doing just about anything legitimate account holders can do with their money.

Just remember Paypal won't ever contact you by sending you an email with a link or an attachment.

If you want to contact Paypal... log onto your Paypal account and send a request that way. Never click onto anything sent to you in an email ... no matter how legitimate it looks.

Happy holidays and safe shopping!
