Thanks to everyone who let me know what consumer issues get under their skin.
One I had never heard of before... being charged extra for a packet of ketchup at a restaurant... really?!
The one gripe that seems to resonate: Automatic renewal fees, contract extensions, and hidden fees... mostly from cable television and utility companies.
Another big one... figuring out what you have to pay once you visit the doctor's office or the hospital. You almost have to be a creative accountant to figure out the add-ons, co-pay, and hopefully deductions.
Some of you asked about an "official" list of gripes. Here's a link to one put together by Consumer Reports.
While hidden fees topped the list, other popular answers were... not being able to talk to a human when you call a company and unreliable cell phone service.
I'll have to tell Sarah, Brian, and Branden that their profession was on the list, too under "inaccurate weather forecasts." I jokingly ask them... what other job allows you to broadcast incorrect information without apology?
