Lately our Call for Action office has been getting a lot of complaints from people who have been burned by door to door sellers. I'm not talking about neighbors selling candy bars for their school. These are professional folks like roofers who are in town, trying to get your insurance checks or those impersonating legitimate groups.
Just remember, it's always better to deal with those you contact, not those who come a knockin'. You can't check out a business when a salesperson is standing on your doorstep.
I'll talk more in detail about this next week. Just remember several resources exist to help you keep track of unscrupulous groups. Call the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado, 636-5076 or contact our Call for Action Office, 457-8211. Also, contractors in El Paso County and Colorado Springs are required to be registered with the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department, 327-2880.
Taking time to make the right decision ensures you make an educated choice that you won't regret.
