How Low! Crooks Target the Unemployed!

Beware... if you're currently unemployed and have unemployment insurance, also known as U.I.

Why would a crook want to zero in on those who are out of work, looking for a job?  He wants your identity, pure and simple.  The Colorado Department of Labor and Unemployment is trying to warn everyone who is unemployed with U.I., unemployment benefits.

If you get a text from the U.I. office... it's a scam.  The text scares folks into thinking their claim's been shut down and can't be reinstated, unless you call back.

If you do call, you're talking to a crook who can't wait to use your personal information... like your debit card number and personal identification number.

Just remember this, the U.I. office never communicates via text messaging.  Anyone who gets a message should disregard it.

This scam hasn't been reported in Colorado, but state officials say it's just a matter of time.  Beware and take care of your personal info!
