DETAILED WEATHER FORECAST
11 Weather Forecast
Meteorologist Branden Borremans
Friday, March 19th
Not only will it be about 40 degrees colder today, but we will have to contend with snow and wind. The snow coupled with the wind will make travel quite difficult between Colorado Springs and Denver, Colorado Springs and Woodland Park, and Colorado Springs and Limon. Southern areas will also see snow and wind, with the heaviest snow likely falling southwest of Pueblo. At this time, most of Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and all of the Southeast Plains do not appear likely to receive heavy snow. However, any snow coupled with the strong wind will produce some pretty nasty conditions and slick roadways. This threat will continue through tonight.
Potential Snowfall through Tonight:
2-4": Downtown and Southern Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Fountain, Rush, Pueblo West, Fowler, Ordway, La Junta, Kim, Eads, Springfield, Lamar.
4-8": Northern Colorado Springs(north of Woodmen Road), Canon City, Falcon, Peyton, Calhan, Simla, Limon, Walsenburg, Aguilar, and Trinidad. Northern Colorado Springs, Falcon and Canon City will likely be on the lower end of this range.
8-12": Woodland Park, Cripple Creek, Divide, Palmer Lake, Monument, Black Forest, Castle Rock.
12"+: Foothills west and southwest of Denver, Rye, Beulah, Colorado City and all of the Wet and Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Wouldn't be surprised to see some totals approaching two feet in the higher elevations of these areas.
The storm will exit early Saturday, but could still be producing snow showers for the southern mountains. Most areas will be dry, windy, and cold, with highs only in the 30's.
Sunday will be much nicer. Plenty of sunshine and highs should reach into the 50's. Monday and Tuesday will also be nice, with highs reaching into the 60's and 70's.
Another storm will impact the area toward the middle of next week. More on that one in the coming days.
