Bye bye, Cornhusker Kickback. Hello, extra money for Tennessee and North Dakota.

Democrats issuing revisions Thursday to their health care overhaul bill decided to kill the extra $100 million in Medicaid funds for Nebraska that has become a symbol of backdoor deal making.

But the changes include extra money for hospitals in Tennessee that serve large numbers of low-income patients. And the Bank of North Dakota would continue being able to make student loans, though the bill would revamp the nation's student loan system to make the government the only lender.

The bill also keeps alive special spending for Louisiana, Connecticut and other states that was included in the original health bill that Congress may complete this weekend.

The reconciliation bill, which includes the revisions to the Senate version of the health care overhaul, has been posted online. If you'd like to look over the legislation yourself, just click on the link below to visit the House of Representatives web site.

If you were caught pulling these kinds of deals, you'd be charged with racketeering, bribery and not to mention theft (from the American taxpayers) Did absolutely no good to contact Bennett with my wishes, all we can hope for is that the voters remember this in November, and balance congress out in the two parties so this doesn't happen again. Voter's remorse yet anyone? I don't think we've seen the end of America's pain.
