The number of new influenza cases in Colorado has dropped for the fourth consecutive week.
State health officials say about 30 people were hospitalized for the flu last week, although that number is expected to rise as late reports trickle in.
The number of new cases has declined since the week of Oct. 11, when 339 were reported.
Seven new deaths from the flu were reported last week, bringing the total to 45 for the season. The 25-49 age group has been hardest hit, with 19 deaths.
Health officials say virtually all the influenza cases they have seen in Colorado this season are swine flu, also called the H1N1 virus.
A total of about 1,770 people have been hospitalized with the flu this season.
