Colorado will receive $42 million in federal funds over the next five years to expand access to health care and improve the system through technology and infrastructure.
The Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing said Wednesday that it has been awarded the money from the Health Resources and Services Administration's State Health Access Program. Gov. Bill Ritter says the funding will help the state continue improvements.
A new law has expanded coverage to more than 100,000 uninsured Coloradans through increased hospital fees.
