The El Paso County health department says there is a new feature with the El Paso County’s Prescription Discount program: You can now get it online!
The following is the news release sent by El Paso County officials:
Colorado Springs, September 2, 2009 – Launched on July 1, 2009, El Paso County’s Prescription Discount program is growing in size, scope and ease of access — with more than 80 participating local pharmacies, and dozens of discount card distribution locations and agency partners that are offering the card to their employees and constituents. Now citizens can download their own personalized prescription discount card on the County website at www.elpasoco.com/.
“Using the County website, community access to more affordable prescriptions is easier than ever,” said County Commissioner Sallie Clark. “Citizens can simply click on the hyperlink under the Prescription Discount graphic on our Home Page, complete a short application, and their customized card is ready to print and use. Our website has a lot of additional information about the County Prescription Discount Program, as well – including interactive searches to locate the nearest participating pharmacies and discount card distribution locations.”
In addition to over 80 local participating pharmacies, the County Prescription Discount Card is accepted at nearly 59,000 locations nationwide — offering card carriers savings on medications averaging approximately 23%. An estimated 80,000 El Paso County residents are uninsured or underinsured, and other residents sometimes require medications that are not covered or are “capped” by their existing health plans.

There are already several online pharmacies which have prescriptions drugs online. Easy to order and dropped at door steps. I get from International Drug Mart. It would be difficult to bring people to program online.
