Nobody wants to be sick in the summertime, but that's exactly what's happening to folks in the central part of the springs. A growing number of folks are dealing with asthmatic bronchitis.
And you don't have to have asthma to get it.
That's according to Dr. Tom Bartlett with Mountain View Medical Group. He says it starts with a cold, so you'll notice symptoms like a runny nose and sinus congestion. Then the symptoms will move down into your chest. So you'll experience a cough and shortness of breath, as well as wheezing.
Dr. Bartlett says asthmatic bronchitis usually requires an office visit with your doctor. Treatment includes cough meds, antibiotics and sometimes steroids.
Also this week... Dr. Michael Halenkamp with Colorado Springs Health Partners reminds everyone that now is great time for yearly exams or checkups, before the school year begins.
