Colorado is still the leanest state in the nation.

That's according to a report out today from the Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Colorado had the lowest rate of obese adults, at 18.9 percent. Colorado was followed by Massachusetts at 21.2 percent and Connecticut at 21.3 percent.

However, obesity rates among adults rose in 23 states over the past year and didn't decline anywhere.

The highest rates of obesity were found in Mississippi and Alabama. The report warns that obesity rates will lead to a surge in Medicare bills. In every state, the rate of obesity is higher among 55- to 64-year-olds -- the oldest boomers -- than among today's 65-and-beyond. Colorado has the lowest rate of obese 55- to 64-year-olds at 21.8 percent.

I have to agree. I was obese when I arrived here. But after 1 year of enjoying Colorado and all the opportunities for health and sport I lost over 60 lbs. Thank you Colorado!

THAT'S AWESOME...HOWEVER, JUST GO TO THE MALL OR ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFETS AND IT MAKES YOU WONDER--THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE WHO APPEAR TO SET IN FRONT OF THE TV/COMPUTER WAY TOO MUCH WHILE THEY ARE TAKING IN MORE CALORIES THAN THEY ARE BURNING. NOT DISCRIMINATION --RE NEWS FOR U--JUST THE FACTS. THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO NEED TO BE HEALTHIER, THERE ARE CHILDREN WHO DON'T HAVE SELF CONTROL OR GOOD HABITS FOR EATING OR EXCERCISE.

What makes you think that you're healthy just because your not over weight? I say skinny people should be force fed to make them look healthy. By the way where are all these fit people? I see more happy fat people than the ones that think their stuff don't stink.
