NORTH CENTRAL COLORADO SPRINGS - Allergies

Dr. Peter Clothier with Dublin Primary Care reports lots of people with allergies.

It's that time of year, when things are budding and blooming and people are sniffling and sneezing. They're also suffering from itchy, watery eyes.

If you think you have allergies, you may want to see your doctor or allergy specialist for proper treatment.

Doctors are finding people who over use antihistamines daily are becoming resistant to the drug, and it isn't working any more.

EAST COLORADO SPRINGS - Sinus Infections

Dr. Alan Garscadden with Colorado Springs Health Partners says, those allergies have turned in to sinus infections for lots of patients.

Symptoms include thick, yellow nasal discharge, pressure or pain around the face and eyes, headache, congestion and post-nasal drip.

Drink plenty of water and other hydrating beverages.

Your doctor will likely prescribe an antibiotic to kill the bacteria causing the ailment.

HEALTH TIP - Preventing Sunburn-

Doctors all over Southern Colorado are seeing kids coming in with sunburn.

Remember to apply sunscreen daily, because you can still get burnt on a cloudy day.
